I am not a professional roofer but. Small holes are simple to fix but the fix isn t to inject caulk in the hole. Use a caulking gun to apply caulk to seal any holes that appear in the roof. Place the shingle or plywood onto the tar and spread more of the tar around the edges of your patch.

Use a putty knife to spread the tar into the leaking hole on the inside of your roof. Hold it against the inside of the plywood by pulling up through the hole while driving deck screws through the roof and into the brace. Patch the wood with plywood of the same thickness.

Install a 2 by 4 brace under a small hole that extends three times the width of the opening. Fill small nail holes with silicone caulk or roof cement. Affix the patch with fabric glue. Patch the nail or screw holes by slipping a piece of roof flashing underneath the shingle.

And exposed misplaced roofing repair nails should be pulled and the holes patched. You ll fix this leaky roof problem with flashing. Make a temporary leak patch once you ve found the leak you can make a temporary leak patch from some plywood or shingle and some roofing tar.
